So, I’m sitting in my writer’s chair, and up pops the song “Twenty-Five,” written and performed by Dami D & Snyd. I thought to myself, I need to revisit that song and the former student of mine who created that song. Therefore, The Other Day…, I pulled up the song and placed it on constant repeat so that I could use it to inspire me to write this TOD.

Nick Snyder (stage name: Snyd) has grown into an amazing person, and if you haven’t heard the song or seen the video for “Twenty-Five,” you should give it a listen. (I will put the link on here later). The reason I bring Nick up today is that when I posted his TOD #29, “The Snyd,” it was the first time I had 600 views on my Facebook page. Therefore, I thought I would re-post the original article so you could learn more about this amazing rapper and performer.
I last saw him in February of 2020, and he was still the same ole Nick, super chill (I think that’s the right word isn’t it, Nick?). Although there is a vast difference in our ages, I enjoy his music and believe he has a lot to offer the world with his talent. Plus, there’s always the “I knew him when” factor, since he was a former student of mine.
I am going to post the original article of Nick in hopes that my new audience might link up to his song and enjoy it for themselves. Now, the truth is, I don’t really understand the meaning of all the lyrics. But, then again, at 66 years old, am I supposed to? I just know my ears like it, and every time it comes up on my downloaded music, I am amazed by the harmonies, Dami D’s vocals, and Nick’s ability to rap.
Hey, if you do watch the video, or go to iTunes and check the song out, and you like it, let me know. Or, better yet, let my former student and friend Nick (The Snyd) know. I think that would bring a terrific smile to his face. So, it is with great pride and admiration that I present to you, once again, TOD V1, #29, The Snyd. Hope you enjoy it. MUH!!
The Other Day…V1, #29. The Snyd
Educators are like parents in that we are always proud of our students, even after they have long since graduated from high school. The Other Day… I was talking to a former student’s mother, and I found out that her son has begun a career in music as a Rap Artist. I couldn’t be more pleased or proud of him for going after his dream. I would like to share a little bit about this young man with you.

Nick Snyder is an enigma. While attending school, he was quiet, respectful, polite, and courteous. On the basketball court, Nick was an outstanding point guard who “had game.” He was fearless, followed directions, and did what was best for the team. Nick’s mother sent me a link to his music video called “Twenty-Five.” In this video Snyd (stage name) has teamed up with singer Dami D (Damion Watson), who has a beautiful voice. Together, these young men have created an outstanding video. As I sat watching these two young men perform, I swelled with pride. I could remember a time when Nick was younger and had created a CD with another student. I still have the CD. I didn’t realize that he was so serious about his music. After seeing “Twenty-Five,” and then watching a second video called “Love & Unity,” which they made two years earlier, I was very impressed. Why am I telling you this? Simple, you need to check these guys out!
Nick has already fulfilled what we all have dreamed of doing, but found so many excuses not to. Nick & Damion have put themselves out there!! They were willing to take a risk in order to achieve their heart’s desire. I often used to brag to my students that I had won a talent contest at a local college. Big Deal! My former student Nicholas Snyder went to Miami, Florida, and along with Damion Watson, made a music video that, at last check, has over 19,000 views on YouTube! THAT is a real achievement!! I can’t really judge this video because I am biased. I’m never going to criticize one of my own. You can watch it and decide for yourself. I will just say that I am a massive fan of both the music and of Snyd.
Here is the link to Damion D & the “Snyd” video “Twenty-Five.”

I know what you are probably thinking: he sounds like a proud parent. And, you’d be right. I am proud of all my students, everywhere! Until next time, take a moment to enjoy this music video, and have yourself an impressive day! MUH!!
