Hello there! I know it’s been quite some time since I’ve changed my The Other Day…essays on my blog. In fact, I believe it was January of this year. I’m truly sorry about that. However, I have been busy from January thru April. Now that I have had some downtime, I am finally making some changes.
This month’s new articles are going to start, as usual, from the archives of Volumes 1-5. My thinking is that some people might like being reminded of a particular essay, while others have maybe never read them before that moment. So, I feel like it’s a “Win, Win.”
I also try to choose one of my short stories to add to the mix. I usually place it last so that it comes up first. June’s short story is Flossie, the Flawless Flamingo. It is the inspiration for the third children’s book that I am working to get published, even though it was written more than fifteen years ago. (Wow, where does the time go?). Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.
The Other Day… Volume Six series choices for June are as follows: #004, Cancer, It’s Still Here, #009, A Cautionary Tale-Angst, # 015, Medical Emergency & 016, Day’s 2, 3, and 4, which deals with the first four days after the 19th of February of this year. Do you have a newer model of Keurig? Has that “Descaling” light come on? I read online that several people had struggled with the descaling process. Therefore, I wrote #021, The Golden Nugget, which provides that “nugget” of information that allows you to complete the descaling process properly. I like tea, and I started blending two flavors together. That’s why #024 is entitled The Blend. Last, is #32, Commiserate, which honors my little girl on her Death Day.
The last five selections from The Other Day… archives are as follows: V1, #51 The Art of Education, which is a tribute to my daughter’s art educator. Volume 2, #159, A Turtle In The Crosswalk, brings back some good memories for me. Then there’s V3, #108, I Can’t Find My Number, a story about my interaction with a Sleep Number bed. Volume 4, #113, The Fine Art of Whimpering. I love a good pout face, and that whimpering sound children make, so I wrote about that. Volume 5, #25, Oh Happy Day!! I’m trying to be uplifting. How did I do?” Don’t forget, we were coming out of the Covid years!
Folks, I love writing, and I enjoy putting together new blog postings for you. So, I hope if you have not read the articles I’ve posted here, that you will take the time to do that now. My goal is to try and get people to move from my Facebook page to my blog now and then to check things out. Why? I have to pay for my blog, so I try to advertise my work and sell some books in order to help with the cost. I haven’t had a lot of success with that, but I enjoy doing it anyway. I have met some very nice people I never knew before and made some worthwhile contacts along the way, so it’s all good.
Anyway, I hope if you have the opportunity, you will stop by my Crosby’s Corner (crosbyscorner.net) blog site and take a look around. If you read something that moves you, I’d love to hear from you. Until next time, keep reading, keep enjoying the life you are living, and above all, stay safe. MUH!!
