Twas the night before Christmas (The Other Day)
And I was making pies.
Several were pumpkin,
Hey, that’s no surprise.
I also made cookies,
Which can be quite the chore.
I mixed flour and sugar
and candy chunks galore.
When they were done baking,
I placed them in jars.
Doesn’t it all sound just delightful so far?
While waiting for more pies to bake,
I thought I would share
Other things I’ve done this Christmas Eve
in order to prepare.
Of course, there’s a tree
With lights and ornaments to behold,
It’s wrapped up in tinsel
And topped with an angel of gold.
Beneath it are gifts
Of every shape, size, and dimension,
They are all covered in paper
And bows, I should mention.
Hey, the timer just sounded
From the kitchen down the hall,
Time for me to end this
And send Christmas wishes to all.
